when i saw the thread title i thought it was an enquiry about Marital relations. And old age. And people too tired to be bothering with previous recreational activities. Times change and unlike yourself I'm glad as I don't like the overt formality of the past despite being of similar age to you. The only people who should be referred to as "sir" are knights of the realm
