Congress is voted for by the people I think the voters are entitled to know which way someone has voted as they are supposed to represent them and they should be required to justify their decisions to the electorate.

The 7 Republicans who voted to impeach may have just committed political suicide. Have always felt that anyone who wants to go into politics should automatically be banned. They are by nature self serving individuals.

They are by nature self serving individuals. I certainly agree that anyone entering politics likely is looking to feather their own nest. These individuals knew that they were committing political suicide though, and did so anyway. In a secret ballot (not that I'd be in favour of that format) Trump would've been found guilty, and so in effect these individuals voted out of principle and with a lack of cowardice compared to their colleagues no matter the eventual consequence for them.
