That would be Punch the potman. when Stan and Marge were in charge..

The beer of my youth. Just pure nectar. Especially before they reduced the ABV back in the 80s or 90s.

The Dog and Bull, Railway Telegraph, Fountain Head, Plough, Dukes Head, Greyhound. All hallowed ground.

Now it's just meh. So frustrating.

Anyone else an ex addict?

Now that Sambrooks have moved into the Ram Brewery, which has the longest uninterrupted period of continuous brewing in the UK, I have discussed with Duncan he could do a retro brew. John Hatch has joined Sambrooks, previously the Youngs' brewer since 1986.

So, if anyone feels as strongly as me about a pint of Special get on to Duncan and twist his arm please.

I think the early 2000's Mr Young died. Whilst alive he promised to keep the brewery at Wandsworth. As soon as he died, his family moved the Brewery to somewhere in Bedfordshire, to reduce operating costs. This was pivotal, as the most influential ingredient to beer,...is water. And the water in Bedfordshire is definitely not the same as Wandsworth.
Anyhow, it is still a very fine pint, and was my favoured brew when I lived in FH. The Bricklayers Arms (Dartmouth Road) and the Dulwich Woodhouse were 2 of my favoured establishments.
I do miss it. The thought is making my throat dry

I disengage, I turn the page.

My wife and I used to take our young daughter to this establishment to play in the garden.
Once saw Nadia Sawalha there, her family home was nearby in Upper Norwood.

God, i used to work behind the jump back then, cellar was on the ground floor, the ground floor bar (mine) was open 10.30-14.30 & then 17.30-19.00 Mon-Sat & the upper bar was open 17.30-19.00 Mon-Fri & 10.30-14.30/19.30-19.00 Sat.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Sadly not really a very fine pint. Charles wells ruined it, Marstons destroyed it. Demand it back. Write to Duncan Sambrook. He can do it.

Blimey, I’d forgotten. Having to dredge the memory banks

I had in mind when Ann and Frank came in.

Potmen, now there’s something long gone.
