I'll start by apologising for my lazy generalisation. I'm glad this has been moved away from Palace talk. I'm not qualified to talk about the issues you've raised, but I would suggest listening to what Eddie Izzard has said in previous interviews about these issues, even if you don't agree with them (if you haven't already) seeing as they are the topic of conversation. Having previously lived in Brighton for 20 years I've known and worked with lots of trans people and I suppose I just get fed up with people labelling them as 'a threat to women/children', or degenerates. It's similar to how gay men used to be labelled as sexual predators and paedophiles. For some people everything comes down to the act of sex, and like I said, maybe that says more about them. Anyway, this isn't something that gets resolved in a football forum and only serves to create pointless disharmony, hence I'm glad it's been shuffled into an area of the forum far fewer people visit. I'm with Becky on this. Trans people are not the threat it is how you define who is Trans that is the issue. Do all Trans people think it a good idea that a man can wake up one morning and decide he's a woman without any treatment, or counselling and that entitles him to access to women's showers? That is what the LBGTQ lobby are campaigning for and so this is a threat to women. Personally I don't care what Eddie Izzard dresses like or calls himself I do care when his rights are supposed to supersede the rights of women to privacy from biological men. I not saying that Eddie believes that but the vocal mob do. A bit of common sense is all I ask for and I suspect most people feel that way.

The person on here talking about those things is me..... and I am a woman, so I feel perfectly entitled to have the opinions that I do without being denigrated as talking like a Sun/Mail journalist - this matter is just as important and real to me (and a lot of women)as it is to Izzard. Or are you (and he) saying that women have no right to have their preferences taken into account if it goes against what 'p**** people' want? Dear God, women have had to fight long and hard in this country to get what rights we currently have and I don't see why we should be expected to chuck it all in the bin and not feel comfortable in 'our' limited spaces so that the few can? This is all very well, Becky, but shouldn’t you be scrubbing that doorstep and getting the coal in? It’s Christmas tomorrow you know...
