I have previously said this. Restrictions lifted to allow Christmas travel, re-introduced in the New Year I believe I asserted on HOL that even if the current restrictions are lifted on 2 December and we return to a 'Tier' system, that the restrictions within each 'Tier' might be different to what they have been and today at the press briefing the possibility of such a scenario was stated by Dr Susan Hopkins. Whether the current Lockdown continues past 2nd December will of course depend on the statistics and there will have to be a distinct improvement in the next couple of weeks else the national restrictions will be extended.Case numbers and hospital admissions are increasing and the death toll is still high.I see an extension as a real possibility. Dominic Cummings departure was presumably due in some part to his criticism of the defence budget? Looking at the extra 16 billions for defence, a department notorious for waste, one wonders why they are being rewarded for their gross mismanagement. Cummings -“it has continued to squander billions of pounds, enriching some of the worst corporate looters and corrupting public life via the revolving door of officials/lobbyists”. It is a pity, despite Cummings being an arrogant little t**t, that he was not let loose on this branch of the establishment. Anyone would think they were defending the UK, but no they 'extend our influence'. The MOD already has a 'black hole' of 13 billions, so it won't go very far will it.....

Look at the 'contracts' that were given to PPE suppliers, who didn't deliver. Now this (BBC link, 16/12/20) "Boris Johnson's former chief aide Dominic Cummings, who left No 10 last month after an internal power struggle, enjoyed a bumper pay rise earlier this year, new figures have revealed. His basic salary rose by about £45,000 to between £140,000 and £144,999." (BBC) Photo shows short-cummings leaving Downing Street with a box of money, And that is without expenses and other perks. And the people who employed short-cummings and the people that voted for his boss are just as culpable.
I disengage, I turn the page. |
