Councils are less regulated than Housing Associations. They should have a phone line of last resource, as we do. So someone can raise an issue that is unresolved.

Fair point, but at the same time the place was such a hell hole that I can see why a person would be utterly bewildered and confused as to why the council didn't give a s!it. The take home from the story is more how disgusting it is that people are expected to live in such conditions. And of course how predictable that as soon as it's highlighted by ITV they're putting them all up in a hotel and care all of a sudden. All they care about is bad publicity.

I agree, but I can see why someone would almost be paranoid about why they've been left in such an unbelievable situation. It's not as if the real answer (that they clearly didn't give a sh!t about him.. most likely because he's poor and powerless) is any better anyway. With that much mold growing on the walls I'm surprised the bloke wasn't also claiming to have been abducted by aliens .

Indeed. Perhaps Council Officials should be prosecuted. Really feel for the residents and you are right, it’s not a colour thing, it’s a you are poor and we don’t give a flying fig about you.... just keep paying us a huge wage
