Just seen Salah’s “penalty”. If that is given for minimal contact, how did Wilf not get his? Oh wait, Salah/Liverpool v Zaha/Palace

The whole penalty situation is completely ridiculous. Ruining football, which is already being ruined by having no crowds. It seems that VAR is used any time anyone falls over in the box. It is there for clear penalties, not to rewind and play something in slow motion until an excuse for a penalty is found.

Oh wait, Salah/Liverpool v Zaha/Palace exactly this......penalties are awarded or not awarded according to who you play for..Salah/Livarpool....Zaha/Palace! No brainer for bent/corrupt/incompetent referees, go to VAR and see if there is any reason to disallow a Palace goal v (big club of choice) or any reason (however small) to give a penalty for (big club of choice) against Palace to enhance the chances of the big club winning, after all Palace dont matter do they?

Agreed, Salah’s incident was a clear dive. A total over-reaction and unnatural resultant leap to the floor following the slightest of touches. It is a contact sport and just because there is some form of contact between two players doesn’t necessarily mean there is a foul involved otherwise we’d see fouls given for virtually every challenge. I feel its worth mentioning a similar inconsistency at the weekend with follow through challenges; Solly March clearly takes out Hojbjerg, with a nasty follow through, In the Spurs v Weed game yet the referee says because March gets the faintest of touches on the ball first, there is no foul and Lamptey’s goal is allowed to stand. Yet Luka clearly wins the ball, only has eyes for the ball and gets far more on the ball than March does, yet his follow through was deemed not only a foul but a Red Card!?

Salah has been getting away with it for some time. Like Kane. And they won’t stop until the refs don’t “reward” then.

Now compare that to slab face Maguire's tackle when playing for England...EXACTLY the same, outcome? Yellow card, albeit 2nd so sent off, but shorter ban.
