Seen Brighton and Leeds both interested in Jordan Lukaku and price is around 5mil. Don’t know how good he is but 5ml for a LB back up wouldn’t be too bad?

Van Aanholt, Ferguson, Schlupp, Riedewald and Mitchell can all play in that position. We need centre backs and another attacking player...

Well....I see your point, but I can find 5 players who can play in every position. but every club needs 2 good ones, specialized in each position (besides a 3rd one who you can call from the U21s uf something specialgappens and both players from first team are injured or suspended). I'd say Mitchell falls into that cathegory.

Ferguson is right footed, so would just be another Ward on the left.

Schlupp...yeah, I see Schlupp there, but correct me if I am wrong- Roy has NEVER used Schlupp as left back.

Riedewald has not impressed me much as left back, unless with being tall (!)

About Jordan Lukaku I have not heard very good things. Apparently he is very ppor defrnding and they haven't been happy with him in Italy.

But who I would have had was Philipp Max, just tranfered to PSV Eindhoven from Augsburg, one of the best, if not THE best left back in the German Bundesliga. Just 26 years old. Even replacing PVA with him would have been good thinking, as one is 30 years old and the other 26.

Max is amazing both defensively and offensively.

If my memory serves me right, he was bought to play at LB when we couldn't get PvA, only to discover after we bought him that Sunderland would let PvA go after all.
I think Schlupp has played LB a few times at Palace. I'm sure some posters will be able to either tell me I'm wrong or quote chapter and verse when he did play there.

As for Lukaku, why, when we have more pressing needs and limited funds?
