Update guys got a medically unfit letter after reviewing my documents for cancer 20 years ago when I was 4 naturally im appealing as this is f***ing ridiculous.

Glad to hear you're doing so well after cancer as a child. Medicine amazing these days. Let us know how your appeal goes. They must be dead picky these days. I had to do a three day selection for my role in the forces. Then did very small amounts of exercise, usually interspersed with drinking and smoking, for a little while before basic.
These days I look back at basic and second phase training fondly. However, they were hell at the time! But I got through. I would genuinely say it's more about mental toughness than physical (although of course I'm a hard b******). Show dedication and don't give up. Don't let them get you down. Two sayings we had: (both horrible): they can't kill you and they can't rape you. Keep one for yourself (no one's coming to save you). And the best advice I ever heard: never volunteer for anything.
If you're still keen after that - then fair play to you.

Sorry to hear this and glad you have got over your childhood cancer. I confess to knowing zilch about forced recruitment but is it possible you were passed unfit as it was the paras? Is it possible that another regiment would accept you? ( obviously SAS is probably out of the question ). I understand it is not what you want but might be worth a try. Good luck for the future, keep your chin up
