Newcastle fans 'confused and heartbroken' by takeover collapse.....

That tells us everything

Hmmm, one reporter said, "this was the only thing that got them through Covid!" Not, their families or their jobs. It's a strange place up there.

I used to work with a Geordie who maintained his season ticket for years while living in London. He was a great bloke with an undying hatred of Man U which endeared him to me. He moved back to Newcastle because the train fares were getting too much.

Ashley has spent £273.6m over last 5 years recouped £166m, and yet they still hate him. Wish we had chairmen who invested this heavily. Spoilt and deluded.

He could spend 10 billion and they’d still call him cockney mafia.
Whatever that is...

Not for that consortium thanks. I don't want Palace to be the stooge for the Saudi state's political shenanigans.

No, that's right. But the difficult question, at least for me, is, if these barbarians were to take us over (with an assumption that they would pour huge amounts into the club), would one continue to be an active supporter? To be honest, I can't confidently say that after 65 amazing years of being a supporter I would give up that pleasure, much as the Saudi regime fills me with a feeling of revulsion.

Yep, but a chunk of that money went to waste (Joelinton for starters and Almiron, despite his goal against us isn't up to much IMO.)
Saint-Max, though, was a steal and will probably move on soon for a tidy profit.
The club do, of course, have a proud history (in the distant past) and a loyal fan base. They ought to be doing better than they are.

I don't like Ashley, and I don't particularly follow what goes on at Newcastle, but a bit of me says, better the devil you know etc. I certainly wouldn't want Saudis running Palace.

They might have a plan B though

I cried a lot when Gadaffi takeover didn't happen, same with P Diddy. Can understand their pain.
