Officially signed for Newcastle.

Wonder how this affects our budget for incoming players...

And he was over budget!!

Tis true that we may now have to sell Wilf to get any new marquee signings in. The likes of Bright Osayi-Samuel or other cost-effective options are more likely to be agreed at this stage.

So I manage a Workshop which provides a safe learning environment for blokes struggling with PTSD and other mental health issues. Being a Palace fan isn't listed yet.

Simon Jordan has really gone in on him yesterday on talksport. Very a amusing- refers to him as a”turd” at one point. Still making me chuckle.

It does mean we have to look at other wide players now.. Rumoured that Celtic are placing a bud in for BOS. If true that's another option removed from Palace. But this transfer window has been in my view surprisingly good so far, so if there are a few more positive surprises in store, that's ok by me!

You're assuming he'd prefer Celtic to us. I'm not joking in that whilst Celtic will enable him to win Scottish trophies and play in the Europa league, that won't get him noticed if he wants PL football later in his career. With us he will get the opportunity (at some point) to show the world what he can do, and I do mean the world given how popular PL football is around the globe. Also we're only down the road from his present club (and his mate's already joined us). It's a big move up to Glasgow with no friends around.

There is, though, the question of how much we want him. Are we holding fire until we see how our interest in Benrahma, Deufoleu and Sarr goes? Time will tell.

As I posted a while back I am pleased we didn't get him and so for once I concur with Mr Jordan!

Excellent point. As you say, and this is amazing to me as an 'old fashioned Palace fan'', he might be on the back burner as there are so many other excellent players we are linked with.

Thanks. I possibly qualify for being one of those as well having started to attend Selhurst in the mid 1970s (as a young man - not a boy)! I have a good feeling about what we are trying to do. I think our American owners may just have made some money available for this window so as to protect their investment. Once again, time will tell.
