It’s all about Ollie Watkins for me. If Brentford don’t go up I think we need to pull the stops out. Such a proven record in the Championship and ticks all the boxes in terms of what we NEED. Would be a large initial outlay but a sound investment I’m sure.

My concern about the Edouard rumours is that his price is too high and I have visions of Benteke/Sakho all over again.

Similarly, I like the sound of Eze (not literall) in the sense that he has a good record this season, is young, dynamic and has the flair that we’ve craved.

These signings, alongside Ferguson already, will give the club and first team a lift no doubt. I’m loving the fact that Roy has publicly come out and said we’re after young, attacking players. He’s usually so conservative and guarded with the media.

Watkins is a good player, but did you check out the original post and the part about him?

Almost every window we have been linked to Antonio, and I think he would suit us , as with his pace and strength he can operate on his own, better than most of those we could afford. And unless we can come up with some creativity in mid field that’s what any forward player we go for has to offer. It’s all ifs and wishful thinking ,but if we could spend , Brooks , from Bournemouth , is a real talent with a very creative edge to his game. Loftus,Cheek, showed us what the possibility were with a bit of creativity in our side. But it does need something decent on the end of it.

Agree - if we’re to spend £20m+ on someone, Brooks would be my first choice.

On the assumption we continue to sit deep and compress the play to deny the opposition space then we really need an injection of pace for the transition to attack.
This will be even more necessary if Zaha departs.
Players like Bolasie of a few years ago or a younger version of Antonio.
Starr from Watford would be good as he has plenty of pace and potential.
Watkins could be an interesting option too.

Looking through the free players, I saw Cavani and Mandzukic aong the big names. Of course Cavani wants a tone of money and wouldn't come to Palace, but what do you guys think of 34 year old Mandzukic?

Old, but he seems fit, his body doesn't retain fat, he should still be able to play better than Glenn Murray at this age for example. What do you think? Is the Glenn Murray level of last year (when he got regular time) still good enough for the Premier League?

Just a question.

I think Mandzukic would want to much and at 34 probably not worth it, although I have always liked him as a player.
Glen Murray has, imo, reached the end of the line as a PL player
