Forest Hillbilly in a hidey-hole 12 Jun 20 12.12pm | |

Obviously the CV-19 virus has given a lot of people the opportunity to reflect. I have few photographs of my childhood and youth, as digital stuff only existed in LED watches. People in recent years have been more fortunate , with digital cameras and phones to record spontaneous moments and post them on the internet. What really c-nts me off are the digital videos made under CV-19 restrictions. "Hello, this is a video of myself in lockdown, sent to me in the future,......zzzzz" "I'm in (place of interest), reporting on some stuff that happened. I didn't see anything, as I was confined to my flat,..but...zzzzzzzzz"
I live amongst fck-wits, is my abiding memory of CV-19. And politicians are included in the description.
I disengage, I turn the page. |

Whatever happened to the 'Teasmade'?
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Back in the day, remember if we wanted photo’s of anything? Having to take a bulky camera for a start, Sod about loading the film, making sure you had battery’s for the flash. Then when you got home, putting the film in the post, waiting a week for them to come back and the realisation that only 2 or 3 of the 24 were any good. And paying a fiver or whatever it costs for the privilege.

I recall loading films in a cylindrical unit into a camera and then ensuring that the display pointed to '1' for the first photograph. This display would advance as shots were taken and then one know when no more could be taken.

Don't you mean a Fox Talbot. Several years ago whilst on holiday abroad I had the misfortune to meet a chap whose interests included cameras and photography. He was wearisome, no lighthouse of joy with 'Misery' etched all over his face.He enlightened me to the fact that he possessed numerous cameras and an array of different patterned camera straps and I readily admit that boredom descended on me in rapid fashion.

I had an Olympus trip, they were the in thing at the time!! Remember the advert? I think that was where the phrase ‘who do you think you are? David Bailey?’ Came from!!
