All of which has now been banned ^^^^ But you knew that

On the whole, it seems, as a people, we have more respect and manners than the ones in their former homelands. Also a sense of fairness allowing everybody to have a decent crack of the whip whatever one's background may be.
As the OP has encouraged a light-heartedness to this thread, for now, I'll suppress my real horror when I recognise my tribe falling short on the qualities mentioned above.
So, as well as The Red Arrows ( as mentioned by KBLF) too, although I can't fathom why, I also have pride in our nation's interpretation of Chuck Berry's Rock'n'roll throughout the 60's, 70's and beyond, sometimes known, across the pond as The British Invasion.

Harsh. You forgot little Richard and the fact that the whole mersey beat movement was just a restatement of buddy Holly.

No time for all these nonce protestors. I'd happily see them all burn.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

So, no matter what your view of recent events and with what seems like constant negativity around Britain I thought id have a bit of light hearted fun... What actually makes you proud to be English/British??

For me David Jason, Cheese and pickle sandwiches and the Red Arrows!!... Go!!

Oh No Kenny not the Red Arrows!!! I used to work for a firm based about 2 miles from RAF Scampton. At first it was great watching them fly over my office each day. After 4 years I was sick to death of the noise! Joking aside they are pretty amazing.

I must admit everyday for 4 years would be a bit much!!

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

How people are there for each other but aren't overly gushing about everything. A quiet appreciation. Music too, though I stopped listening to anything new about 20 years ago.

The fact that swear words, spoken with a proper British accent, sound far superior to anything that any other nation can utter.

Very interesting topic.

For me like many others have said, the dry and self deprecating comedy can't be beaten.

Impact in music.

Rooting for the underdog.

Football.

Orwell.

And as someone else on here put very well, something along the lines of being there for each other without making a big fuss of it.

I guess for some of these it's more just what I like about England/Britain as being proud of it would suggest some sort of personal involvement (semantically speaking). As yet I'm still awaiting my first Cap and have not yet released a seminal album
