It's been a very very long time since I've started a thread on here, in fact probably just before or very soon after sir staffie R.I.P passed away, but sitting here this evening after so far enjoying a really good bank holiday weekend despite the CV19 shyte, I've enjoyed loads of music, beer and thinking time. It's been mental health awareness week this week and after playing a few soothing cds, Pink Floyd and Returm to Forever, I started listening to my usual radio station (Absolute 105.8 ) and it's really heartwarming, although sad at the same time, that a radio station takes time to listen to people and take their requests to soothe them. It has made me message some of my friends this evening who I know are going through bad times to tell them to tune in as it is helping me to realise that there are a lot of people going through what they and myself are going through. I hope you all are staying safe, never mind this stay alert sh1t, and are keeping well. Remember you are not alone and there is help there, and if friends aren't contacting you to see how you are is it because:- 1) You haven't ever told them how you feel? Please look after yourselves as no pub or footie to meet friends is very hard but true friends are still in contact with you regardless. Anyhows, 105.8 are now playing some Zep so I must go. Love all my fellow HOL'ers and wish you all a great BH weekend and never feel alone

a kind and quality statement - too much honesty and emotion for the 'a*seholers' who can't be bothered to reply ... tssk here's a playlist of mine - the muic might be a bit light for your tastes but it all helps

A great and important statement, especially in these times. There's definitely still some stigma attached to men talking about they are feeling maybe because a perceived sign of weakness, maybe because we're not very good at it and who knows what other reasons. But there's undoubtedly a link between it and some shocking recent UK stats; suicide being the single biggest killer of men under 45 and 75% of suicides being male. All these types of things awareness campaigns I think are doing some positives and starting to chip away at the problems. I hope everyone's having a good Bank Holiday.
