I have just recalled a comic from my childhood. I think they are termed Graphic Novels, in todays lingo.

2000AD. They had many regular characters in their weekly issues.

The robots, Ro-Jaws and Hammerstein
The Space Trucker (unashamedly from Deep Purple inspiration) called 'Ace' (from, Kiss)

They also had a character killer robot called Dr.Feelgood.

No doubt I will trawl some more from Mr Apollo

I went to school (ages 10-17) with the drummer from a band called September Gun
AND the keyboardist from Schrodinger's cat.

Also was in the same year as Bros, but you maybe never have heard of them. I will reveal some stories in the next day or so.

My dad was driving out of his local golf club 30 years ago, when he noticed a chap struggling with a punctured tyre on his car.

My dad offered and gave assistance, and during a short conversation the chap said he was Ray Davies from The Kinks. My dad had no clue who the band were.

I saw The Kinks at GLastonbury not long afterwards.

Sounds like your dad was a well respected man.

My Friend was a lorry driver in the Midlands one winter he saw a man huddled at the side of the road as it was snowing he stopped the man was completely bladdered. He eventually recognised him as Ossie Ozborne he gave him a lift back to his house. He said he was ok but a bit away with the fairies.
