When AWB played for Palace he was in a side that was set up to defend, and they were well drilled (remember those days....). Occasionally he would be caught out, but his strength in tackling saved him and caught the eye. Almost as soon as he moved to Man U you could see his positioning was all over the shop. On replays of goals conceded you could see him in a position closer to where a sweeper would be playing rather than in a line with the rest of the defence. At Man U they concentrate more on going forwards and seem to hope the defence have an idea what to do and will just naturally do it.
Was gutted to see him go, but we got a good price.

I have seen a fair bit of AWB during lockdown. Tonight in the FA Cup he hasn’t looked any better than Clyne or Ward. He certainly doesn’t look like a player worth 50 million. He still retains that elasticity in the tackle but can’t pass and offensively may deliver 1 good cross in 10.
Obviously the lad came up through our youth set up so I wish him every success but I really do think it was a tremendous piece of business when he was sold. Shame the cash hasn’t really made its way to regenerating the squad ....only to balance the books.

Gonna see him back at Palace in 8 years time after two failed loan spells in aid of our ongoing injury crisis and relegation battle after Roys 80th? :-D

I believe this is accurate.

It was Richard Shaw who persuaded him to play full back

Bissaka should have stayed with us longer. Man U fans cuss him bad over Maguire Lindeloff and Telles. Those glory hunters.

Maybe we can buy him back for half the price in a year or two.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
