Very surprising. Worst team in the league, much poorer offensively than even Norwich.

Didn't deserve to stay up.

They have 8 attacking players, none of which did much this season: 45 million 1 league goal signing Joellinton, average at best Almiron, so-so Saint Maximin, mostly injured Dwight Gayle, Andy Carrol and Matt Ritchie, loanee Lazaro who hardly played and Atsu (backup).

Not sure 34 points makes them safe but they will be. ASM will turn into a very good signing, would have loved him at Palace

At this present time, Brighton are at home in 3 of their next 4 games but the away game at Leicester which was postponed still has to be re-scheduled.Brighton's 3 home games in question are against Arsenal,Man Utd and Liverpool.Brighton's 5 of their remaining 9 games are at home.

Both Watford and W.Ham also have 5 of their remaining 9 games at home.

They won key games when they needed to and not necessarily through great football. Have to praise some of their performances by way of resilience.

For me, I hope that Newcastle does stay up = a city brimming with passion for their team.

Dubravka who has done well for them is out injured until at least the end of the month.
I suspect Karl Darlow, who Pardew signed from Nottm Forest for £3.5 Mill will take his place.
Darlow has not been that impressive in the cups this season.

Newcastle's next 4 games :
H Sheff Utd, A Bournemouth, H W.Ham, A Watford.

I don't know.

These are 3 teams playing football (or at least having some very good players). I'd have rather seen poor Newcastle get relegated.

Club animosity is probably your thing, but not playing rivals like Brighton is no fun.
