The name of the convicted not being released for " privacy reasons "

He is identified in the newspaper article below. Seems to be a 51 year old German Incel. Not a Muslim terrorist driving to kill, but yes he is clearly another nutter intent on mayhem. Is he copying the precedent set by other vehicle attacks ? for sure. Remember Promenade des Anglais in Nice ?

Regarding the title of the OP, i was referring to newspaper outlets at the time. Mods, feel free to change it into something more appropriate....''Trier Car attack on innocent crowd''

Is a society with an oversupply of men destined to be a violent and edgy society ? The history books would suggest so. If a thousand men are deemed to be 'surplus to requirements' then all it takes is one of them to flip and use his car keys to inflict mass murder.

Dont you miss the calm and quiet 1990's when such an attack was almost unheard of ?

Look at the dates on the second link below and try to tell me the trend is looking dire. The next attack ? not a question of if, but when.

There have always been sad cases who unhappy with their lives want to go out in a blaze of glory. Unfortunately the terrorist car attacks have shown these people how to "make their point" without all the bother of having to try a buy a gun illegally.

Part of me thinks that these people crave publicity so we should deny it to them. I hope this scum rots in gaol for the rest of his life, unknown and unloved. Better yet he should get a helicopter ride over the North Sea (one way).

The link you've provided is actually to a different incident to the one which you started the thread on. Albeit another tragic one which certainly has similarities.

i share your anger with the killing b..stard. But we should also be angry with the forces that are making this commonplace in our society.

When it is one nutter....you blame the nutter. When the trend is so awful, you have to ask questions about why ?

well it proves my point that these attacks are now coming in thick and fast. And so numerous as to become almost indistinguishable from each other .

here is the relevant link, and yes, extremely similar.
