starting with our Budgie Byrne inspired promotion surge that's 1960 - 1973 then there's the fall and rise Allison and Venables 1974 - 1980 the next 4 or 5 were our wilderness years, then there's Coppell's time 84 - 93, the Alan Smith sandwich 1994 - 2001, Southgate, Doogie et al, Bassett, Hopkin and Lombardo, another few dull years after admin, then Dowie to Warnock 2003 - 2009 with the AJ season … then admin and the Doogie turnaround 2010 - 2013, before now ... the premiership years. Personally I'd go for Allison and Venables, the 76 cup run Burnley and the new kit - second strangely I loved the minus ten and staying up Ambrose Murray Wilf and Bolasie times when Doogie was manager - I'm the sole member and president of the David Wright fan club..

My formative years were mid - late 70's early 80's going with my dad. Very fond memories. But I actually loved the 80's, as I was working, so had cash and went to many a far flung place on a Saturday afternoon with a few mates (1 of which I still go with to this day).

My favourite time as a Palace fan are the years 1988-1992 when we got promotion had 2 cup finals and played an exciting if rather uncultured brand of football where we basically took it to the opposition and really put them to the sword. No parking the bus and showing teams too much respect and we had some great attacking players with a hard as nails midfield in Gray and Thomas who could both play a bit as well. Pity it all broke up so quickly Other exciting times have been when we surged up the table to get in the play offs when Bassett Dowie Warnock were in charge and I loved the promotion season of 2013 with Wilf Yala and Murray firing in goals. Since being back in the Prem there have been memorable victories and some spells where we have looked really good but then fizzles out. Let's hope for some exciting days again soon.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

OK so it was a very short era but he was so exciting to watch. If only we had got him a few years earlier plus a centre forward taller than a midget we might have prolonged the "Don Rogers era" in the top flight
