Sorry if this is a thread already, does anyone have clarity on what stations are open and what lines have trains on Boxing Day?

Thanks

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I'm all for privatisation, but there should be provisions set in law that all Rail franchises operate 365 Days a Year even if Public holidays are run on a Sunday service.
Can you imagine going down stairs on Xmas morning & having no water coming out of the tap to fill the kettle.

But then someone has to work. I talk from experience having had to work at Gatwick Airport on several Christmas Days. Personally I see no reason for an airport to be open and I do not feel anyone should have to work Christmas Day or in fact Boxing Day

There are also a lot of people who want to travel as well? There must be plenty of Muslims, Jews & Hindus who don't celebrate Christmas In the same way as I don't take Ramadan off or Hanukkah.

Southern appear to be running every 30 minutes from (at least) Three Bridges to East Croydon. Also TFL are planning to run some service on London Overground according to a Google search for trains on Boxing Day.

Trains stopped operating (with a few exceptions) on Boxing Day in 1981, 13 years before rail privatisation:

There are no trains coming from the South as they are replacing the bridge at Sanderstead Road, they are going from East Croydon to Norwood Junction every half hour I think, also Overground is running from West Croydon
