great character, interesting career, must find out what small faces songs he wrote … saw the opening night of a play about Alex Higgins called 'Hurricane' 10 or 15 years ago - Alex was in the audience and came on the stage at the end (Soho theatre - less than a 100 fit in the audience, Higgins talked and coughed all the way through while uber talented comic/mimic/actor did his life story in a one man show - Jerry Dormer). In the bar before the start in came Kenny Lynch in a long Crombie coat, followed by Ronnie Wood and Jimmy White all wearing pretty much the same gear, they all met up hugging and belly laughing the way old ,mates do … I think Kenny managed Hot Gossip as well for a while, saw him give a quite foul mouthed interview about the experience - worked hard to use his talent and have a great career and life it seems - RIP.

The Small Faces song he’s best known for is Sha-La-La-La-Lee. He was also the first person to issue a cover version of a Beatles song - Misery in 1963.

I remember watching Kenny Lynch on tv as a kid growing up. Remember him, Bruce Forsythe and Jimmy Tarbuck all seemed like good blokes together. RIP. Edited by sitdownstandup (19 Dec 2019 4.35am)
Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping. Hubert Reeves |
