The 'white man's burden' was a reality due to the stark civilisational differences and I agree with you that due to 'self harming' political decisions last century it has come back to bite us. I think your criticism of the middle east has some validity....I mean I'm not proud of our betrayal of the Arabs at the end of WW1 but then again, the French also take some of that blame. That said, the middle east, doesn't require much help when it comes to fecking things up.

We know that imperialism is an outdated concept, however there's an argument to be made that it has never really ended.....different entities just took over. Now when you hear about 'imperialism' it is usually just a guise used to attack white people, though I'm not including ex hibitionist in that as it's perfectly valid to talk about the history.
