I know England are battering them (Bulgaria), but Despodov would do well in a good side.

Great on the ball.

The commentator mentioned that he hasn't played much in the last year.

He does have a goalscoring record - Last season he scored 9 from 18 apps, the season before that 8 goals from 7 apps and the season before 4 from 4 apps.He hasn't scored this season from 7 apps.He is on loan to Sturm Graz from Cagliari.

He wasn't given chances at Cagliari. I for one can't understand why. He just wasn't sent on. Of course he is still extremely young and Italians are very, very conservative about sending young players in, but surely he deserved more.

I'd like folks here to remember how long ago I have talked about this player as a long-term investment who will surely make it. He was very cheap 1 or 2 years ago and still isn't extremely expensive. Has started very well in Austria this season at Sturm Graz and already has about 3-4 assists in 2 months. Sure, the level is Championship-level, but at his age he's one of the most promising out there.

One thing I'd like to see more is him playing on the left side of the pitch, as inverted winger. Most of his matches have so far been pretty liniar, just on the right.

If he was the guy playing right wing for Bulgaria then he looked impressive, got by Chillwell easily a couple of times and put in some decent crosses.

I don't recall you lauding this player at all and from your comments you are asserting that you have mentioned him on a few occasions.Perhaps at nearly 67 my recollection is on the wane!

Some very good players there and the economic disparity is gigantic. Good players coming in from western leagues cost way over 10 million. I don;t know if you guys saw the days of Stoichkov, Gheorghe Hagi, Nedved, Mijatovic, but getting in the best players of the Eastern European leagues for little money would be good business.

All the players below will still increase their value even if you sent them on loan to the Championship. All of them, from my knowledge, would accept going to a Championship club if it means they will have chances to step up to Palace's first team. All of them wil want salaries of around 8000 a week, so very small for English football.

They are:

From Bulgaria (7 million inhabitants, best result in recent years: Ludogorets in the Champions League):

1. KIRIL DESPODOV- Bulgarian winger of 22, probably best Bulgarian to come since Stoichkov. Still young, but I think he can even play at top level at this age. They supposedly want 4.5 million pounds, but media says that would definitely sell for 2.7 million.

there was one that really struck me, where he drove right through central midfield with the ball...he was going at the heart of our defence when his team mate dispossessed him and ballooned it over the bar.

that was such a dangerous, exciting, controlled run when playing for a s*** team against a far superior opponent.

he did other good bits when he got the ball.

And yes...Matteo did recommend him.
