Surely you rent a seat every season.
If you get given a comparable seat the next season you have an option to refuse.
The club decides who and where people sit.
Foul or fair its their rules.

Then their rules are undiluted cobblers.
Supporters are the most important element at any club, and shouldn't be dictated to as to where they must sit.

Nonsense. People pay good money for their seat, often surrounded by people they have go to know well. To be suddenly told you are being moved is very bad practice and should never have happened.

Whisper/rumour has it, it's being done for basically 2 reasons. 1) to make the ground appear 'full' for TV & 2) to cut costs on stewarding/facilities etc.

Either way, why sell tickets in the 1st place?

 

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
