Why are you being obtuse, Young Boys have a far better pedigree than any Irish team.
The reaction of some from losing a pre season friendly is over the top. It's an opportunity to try out new formations and build fitness.

I don't give a toss about losing. My point wass how appallingly bad most of the Palace players were. Some Palace fans shelled out good money to be there while the players - on tens of thousands of pounds a week - barely go through the motions. Formations can be tried out and fitness built just as easily in games held 'behind closed doors'.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Benteke just cannot play much football unless he’s 25-50 yards from goal with minimal defenders to oppose him or a ball in the air nobody can reach that he can power into the net with his head.

Benteke would get stacks of goals with Alex-Arnold and Robertson providing crosses. When he was at Liverpool, Moreno and Clyne were the full-backs

What today's game Vs Young Boys underlined is we desperately need a replacement for AWB. Benteke and Sorloth were dumb and dummer today. Steve Parrish WE NEED A STRIKER WHO ACTUALLY SCORES ASAP.

We've got Ayew, relax.

If we go into this season, with Teckers, Sorloth and maybe Ayew having sold Wilf and AwB we’re heading the same way as Sunderland.

Not to mention Ward at RB with Kelly as cover. Another costly PVA error too.

I highly doubt we will. If Wilf goes then players will be coming in. I expect a right back and then a loaned striker in as a minimum with Wilf staying to keep us equal to last season.

Kelly is decent enough, needs Sakho or Tommo next to him though.

PVA is the one sliding under the radar, very, very weak last season defensively.

Just watched the 1st Goal, I see PVA coming under more criticism than the keeper, PVA slipped which was unfortunate, Guaita was 100% at fault rushing out as Dann was covering defender.

At least his goals kept us up in his first season, that is infinitely better return on investment then Sorloth.
Not that it softens that he has done nothing since of course. We need a goal scoring striker, but we are not the only club looking for one.

Sorloth was approved by RH who said at the time he had consulted his contacts in Scandanavia and was happy it was a the right thing to do, so presumably you want Roy fired.

Sorloth has not cost the club 4 years wages as he only signed in Jan 2018.

We have had so little chance to see him it's hard to make a judgement

I am much more annoyed with whoever was behind Benteke, no one will ever hold their hand up to that.

Conversely, whoever was responsible for signing Bolasie did a great job, as did whoever got AWB tied in.
