Vettel v Hamilton...the now infamous 5 second deduction Vettell Knew exactly what he was doing and rules are in place which, were followed. He goes to pieces when Hamilton is close behind! Toys out of pram at the end.

It was his mistake, not Hamilton's, don't understand why Vettel has a problem, he knows the rules.

Unconfirmed rumour coming out of Canada(no link, sorry) is that there may be a grid penalty for Vettel/Ferarri, for frivilous appeal on 5 sec penalty. In football terms, its like trying to appeal a yellow card, you cant. As i said, its unconfirmed.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

This just compounds the embarrassment imo. All Seb had to do was concede the position he denied a fellow competitor and then race.

The FIA let Schumacher off against Damon Hill, but then set the precedent with the Villneuve collision in 1997. Really shoddy job by not keeping up with technology and adjusting Regulations accordingly

Have sympathy with the 'let em race' stance on this but ultimately he impeded Lewis as a result of bottling it yet again when under pressure. He clearly had opposite lock on when regaining the track which then took him in front of Lewis, but that simply means he wasnt in control when he came back on the track..warranting the penalty! Lewis has Vettels number, but if (as someone mentioned earlier) we were back in the Hill / Schuey days then vettel would just revert to type and run people off the road to keep position.

Missed the race, but i've just watched the incident, and must say I feel a bit sorry for Vettel in this case. (which hasn't happenned before!) I think that he had no choice over where his car was going, and he couldn't move out of the way - Hamilton chose to go round the outside, which was a closing gap. he should have gone up the inside.
