Just heard the news that the Leyton Orient manager has sadly passed away. I read earlier in the week he had been taken into hospital when suddenly falling ill but didn't think it would be that serious given he is only aged 49. This is very sad news. RIP.
Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs. |

Can’t believe it, his orient team won Bromley’s league last season and were heading back to the football league, too young, 49 years old!! RIP Edited by monkey (08 Jun 2019 7.54pm)

Very very sad.. He was shaping into a decent manager. RIP Justin.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

When I lived in Billericay in the 90's he was my neighbor and used to give out photo cards signed of himself to the kids that knocked on his door. Had a reputation of being surly back then but I did not see that even when he asked for his ball back after it came over the fence. He was polite and apologetic. Shame he was too young to go so soon.

Very sad - and he was a seriously talented manager imho - did wonders at Newport and the O's - had a great future ahead of him, and as for the surliness that was true when he was a young player, remember him giving it back to Roy Keane in the '91 cup final, but he had clearly left that behind, great loss.

Incredibly sad news given this man's dedicated and successful service to football both as player and manager culminating in steering Leyton Orient FC back into English Football League following National League champion status. Tributes from Leyton Orient FC and the wider football community serve to show how deeply respected he was. 49 is no age and he also leaves behind a wife and two children.
