Most people didn't like them anyway.

Personally I am fed up with the ever closer relationship between top football and betting. Just like that between tobacco companies and sport (motor racing and snooker say,) in the past.

A personal view but one Bourne of hard lessons, gambling is addictive and can ruin lives.

It might be seen to be ok to put a different game sponsor on kids shirts but the sheer amount of gambling adverts and sponsors makes me uncomfortable.

Oh for the glory days of TDK or when Liverpool were sponsored by Crown paints.

Blimey I was thinking the same the other day. For the first time in 11/12 years I thought I'd flick through some of the UK Channels & apart from the same old faces stealing a living like they were back then, was the inordinate amount of gamboling/bookies adverts as well as scratchcards & other Lotto crap.
I actually agree with Simon Jordan when he say's that the Premier League sells it's wares too low.
They should be aiming for 3 or 4 Premier advertisers like Coca Cola, Apple, Microsoft etc those types & have shirt free advertising but concentrate on advertising exposure elsewhere.

Jordan is the chairman equivalent of Gary Neville as a manager. Occasionally talks sense but when he had the chance, royally f***ed it up.

On second thoughts, Gary Neville talks a lot more sense a lot more often. But you get the idea. Talk is cheap!

Doesn't make him bereft of bad Ideas though does it & he has got some decent thoughts on the game, but I digress this is about shirt sponsorship not the merits of ex chairman.
And for the record son stop trolling me you did this on the Only in America thread. You can always PM me if you have an issue? Just a friendly warning like!!

I’m really not trolling you, rather stating my view. How many weeks/months ago was this other transgression exactly?

I’ll carry on giving my views regardless, that’s what this message board is for after all. I never make it personal, you are entitled to your opinion too.

Seem to recall one year something daft like four top flight clubs were sponsored by NTL (Remember them?). Remember Villa and Newcastle were, sure there were a couple of others.
