I'd be looking at quality championship players.

Bournemouth brought in David Brooks from Sheff Utd, Utd have just bought Dan James from Swansea, Leicester took James Maddsion from Norwich.

The only successful strategy is to do a blend of all three.

You will always need to buy a proven player and have experienced pros in the team, but of course unearthing some young exciting prospects and investing in youth is paramount to securing the clubs future.

I genuinely think the best investment we could make with the AWB money is to spend £5m of it on a complete overhaul of our scouting team because what we have been doing for the last few years clearly hasn't been working, especially in comparison to the teams we are competing with.

We should be looking at clubs like Watford, Leicester, RB Leipzig and Brentford as examples of excellent scouting infrastructures.

Have to say thats a great shout

People will deny it, but it was FDB that gave AWB his first taste of first team football at wing back in the friendlies haha. He didn't look up to first team football at all in those first few friendlies. Give it a few months and in a back four and suddenly he bursts in as a wonderkid!!

Bournemouth also have a very good scouting network.

We should take a leaf out of their book.

Just get the players in early. Roy takes time to bed players in . They need to be here for pre-season. Dortmund (admittedly a slightly bigger club) had three players signed on the moment last season ended.

Let everyone else do decent business at a decent price first. We can rush a couple of Zekis or Rakips over the line on deadline day. We should probably sell our other RBs too just to be consistent. Need to keep Roy on his toes.

I believe 'policy' is probably too strong a word when used about the way Palace go about things.
