Many happy returns of today to comedian and music hall veteran Roy Hudd who has reached 83. A Palace fan since he was four, he started going to matching when his uncle Bill took him along to Selhurst. On one occasion, his aunt Ivy was also persuaded to attend - with disastrous consequences. A poorly executed long ball from Palaace left back Alf Noakes hit her in the face and knoched her out (balls were much heavier in those days). She was revived by St John Ambulance, but the trio had go home early - much to the frustration of Roy and Bill.
