I have encountered the main conflict in Human progression.

Engineers V Accountants.

* Engineers want the job done right, first time. Big initial cost, with minimal maintenance in the years to come.

* Accountants want a pittance of an initial outlay, with annual deficit (whatever it is £££) to off-set the tax burden.

If we kill all the accountants, humans will be on Mars by 2020.

Or maybe just send the accountants to Mars,....
