One thing that occured to me in the lead up to goal number 5 is that on most occasions Wilf would have gone down, quite justifiably, when he was shoved and pushed by the Bournemouth player. Instead, like a man possessed, he shrugged him off and went on to lay off the perfect ball to Andros. I wish he'd do that a bit more often instead of getting embroiled in arguments. Okay I know in the penalty area he has won us a good few penalties, but in other areas of the field there are benefits, as we saw yesterday, to staying on your feet. There was a counter-attack in progress,Bournemouth didn't have many players back and Zaha saw a lot of space in front of him to run into. In terms of the game, indeed a goal fest but it would have been a totally different game about 10 games back.

There is a myth about this game. The myth is we threw caution to the wind, went all out attack, and that is why we shipped 3 goals. 2 of their goals came from outside the box and 1 was an absolute worldie - you dont stop those. Goals from outside the box will fly in even if you have Maldini and Nesta back there. We scored 5 goals because we did actually have a go at a team at Selhurst, which we barely did last season, but I dont accept that the 5-3 scoreline means if we are more positive every game is gonna be 4-3 or 5-4. We also scored 5 because they are s*** at the back on the road, and it was the last game of the season. We can be more positive, more adventurous, play on the front foot more at home AND still have a good shape in defense when the other team is attacking.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

With no emphasis on the first syllable, if you please. Only teasing. Good post IMO.
