If you want to expand the range, the easiest way is using ethernet over power cable, as long as your hub and the place you would like to extend the wifi coverage to are on the same circuit it's plufg and play.

[Link] will explain it to you but basically you can send all over the house this way. To note it's much better if the devices are plugged into the wall and everything else is plugged through the device to reduce interference.

What also works (and I have used this too) is ethernet over coax. Works pretty much in the same way but sends the signal through your TV antenna's (or Cable companies) existing coaxial cable.

I have BT Whole Home WiFi. It's three discs that you plug in around your house and it creates a mesh network. I previously had no WiFi in upstairs back bedroom, bathroom and very poor signal in kitchen. Now have high speed in every room, and had 3-bars down the end of the garden.

the one nearest the router needs an ethernet cable, the rest need power only. Got my Sonos wired to the one in the kitchen which seems to create another network for all the Sonos speakers as all speakers connect wirelessly to 'Kitchen'. Don't know if that's supposed to happen but it works brilliantly.
