the top six - how long have they got?

I don't see anyone else regularly replacing one of them. If any of the owners get bored and want to sell they'll be plenty of rich sugar daddies wanting a new train set. Only mega Man City sums can propel a club into that top 6, the big boys have vast revenue streams with big stadia, sponsorship deals, overseas fans, they are global brands. Wolves and Leicester can't compete with that, and even with the money they just wouldn't be able to attract world class players, unheard of clubs in unfashionable cities, if its just money they want they can just go to China

The whole landscape could be completely different in 20-30 years time - just as it was different in the past.

The only ones that benefit are greedy players, greedy agents and the TV subscribers, and greedy shareholders,no one else!

I can't really see the powers that be allowing established brand names to falter. The top 6 are, more than anything, products, businesses and they'll stay as such.

One of the things that I have personally noticed is that when a youth player plays, usually because a club is forced to pick them through injuries, the youngsters do better than the regulars.

Dare I say one of the least likely teams in the top 6 to retain status is Manchester City? A lot is made of Pep not being that good a Manager and always needing the best team in the world and deep pockets. It's a fair assessment and it's for this reason I list him below the likes of Mourinho, Klopp, Sir Alex and Clough. That said, he's still a top, top Manager and if he ever does go and take a team with less finances, he could easily find himself etched above those names in football history. One thing is for certain, no other Manager currently Active right now could get more out of this Man City side, no matter how expensively assembled they may be. We have seen with the likes of Mancini and Pellegrini (again, a good 1 or 2 levels below Pep though still top Manager's), City can be made to look very ordinary. Pep isn't the sort to stay at a club long term. I think they'll get another 2 seasons out of him max and that's only due to Champions League failure this season. I can see the Abu Dhabi investors getting bored soon of always investing and once they have got that shiny Champions League trophy to brag about, could easily stop investing. City struggles to fill it's stadium now. There will always be more international fans of United, Liverpool and Arsenal. Most football fans from anywhere in the World will agree that City's success isn't real and just bought. I know we're sick of the Liverpool love-in but I think we can all admit if they win the league this season, there will and should be a lot of Celebration for the Team and the way Klopp has awoken a sleeping giant. If City win the league it's meh. No one outside of City fans will watch the trophy lift, no one in China will be lining the streets in celebration. I honestly could see them fading in a few years.
