You've answered your own question. It's precisely because the team is over reliant on Zaha that there is an imbalance in the tactical approach to the attacking side of our game. I recall years ago the Spuds had a similar problem when Ginola played for them, everything went through him and it became easy for the opposition to double up.

No the squad and midfield in particular lacks the attacking guile and quality required at the level. I keep reading all this bollocks about Hodgson this and tactics that when it’s clear that any team with attacking midfield options from Schlupp, McArthur (good as he is an all rounder), Kouyate and Meyer is going to struggle to take the game to sides that sit behind the ball. Now we’re playing with third and fourth choice centre backs who are less comfortable on the ball than Sakho and Tomkins this is exacerbated. PVA has badly lost his way but Roy has to persevere because he brings a bit of pace when we attack.

Under performed dropped points to teams we should never really be losing to the likes of Brighton twice and people claiming the whole relying on Zaha are wrong more like the style is setup like that with the media jumping on that train.

The likes of Luka are far more important also people don't give Andros the credit he deserves.

It's the managers tactics that are the problem it's always the same with him and we have players that are suited a way yet he does the opposite with fans attacking them saying they are useless well yes because not being used correctly.

Clear example is Benteke (we don't even use direct balls to him) and next look what he is doing with Schlupp.

I don't trust Roy with money and the way he is anyway he has no interest in even having much to do with transfers leaving it to the likes of Doug and Parish which is not good.

I got as far as that and gave up.

Exactly right.

Benteke had the unenviable stat of missing 20 from 23 “good” chances last season. According to some that’s because Roy doesn’t encourage enough shooting practice. Nothing to do with Benteke’s psyche. Townsend hasn’t performed in the home games save for a couple of games and one would argue his home form reflects the team’s overall. Different matter away.

Seriously under performed this season, 4 wins at home all season is a complete Joke...

The only positives I can take from it all is how well , Wilf,AWB, Milo and Tomkins have played.

To lose to the muppets down on the coast, home and away just makes matters worse.

If you add Sakho to the quartet you’ve mentioned it pretty much highlights that we’ve only half a premier league level team with many approaching or wrong side of thirty. Up until February we didn’t have recognised striker either and the one we own has completely lost it.
Very difficult times ahead IMO.
