Are you suggesting that MPs don't claim for cleaning the moat around their home or for building a floating duck house or even claiming £20,700 for repairs to the bell tower in his stately home

Look it up

Yes I am stating that

Note the word claim rather than claimed

£100 in Jaffa cakes eh? A wicked extravagance, feeding the electorate when they came to talk back in 2009. They should have brought the cake

If only McVities had lost the case, it’s fine to give voters biscuits

Well, yes. The Donald either with our ex-chairman or the “glamour model” could produce a regular Outspan.

Good thinking

Then only the worthy who are able to support themselves could be leaders

A great way to ensure the voice of the people is heard

JRM appears to pay himself for four researchers and an office manager. I am sure it gives him an advantage

If only every MP was worth over £100m.

The concept is flawed of course....essentially it leads to power held by only those who can afford to hold it.

Positions of leadership should be based on the highest IQs and allegiance.......Whereas these are only very indirect requirements in reality.

And popularity should be a contributing factor not the most important.

But this is moving away from democracy, which is a bit uncomfortable. However I can see that democracy.... will ultimately be the end of itself.

If you’re prepared to wrestle any kind of cake out of Mr. Lammy’s hand you’re a better man than me.
