Surprised no-one has mentioned Palace Addiction. That Paul McGrath book is amazing.

Careful what you wish for by Simon Jordan for all his faults Simon was and is a genuine Palace fan and this book shows how quickly you can get unstuck owning a football club

The Nowhere Men by Michael Calvin is really good. It's about the world of scouting within the English footballing system. It won The Times British Sports Book Award 2014.

Peter Crouch's How to be a Footballer is really amusing, some genuine laugh out loud moments. Read it on holiday a couple of weeks ago. He strikes you as 'one of the good ones' and harks for the 'good old days' of football, which are sadly evaporating. Tells his story from being an academy graduate and trying to fit in and then realising he was completely faking it and decided to be himself.

It would be good on a long flight and does show other aspects of a footballer’s life.

Has anyone mentioned: Thirty-one Nil - On the Road with Football's Outsiders, by James Montague? A football book I didn't particularly enjoy was The Damned United. The style just annoyed me. I enjoyed the film version, even with its many innacuracies.
