Agreed. It's all very well saying fans shoukd sing all game, but f*****g hell it's hard with the s**t football that's being dished up this season. How on earth do you expect the crowd to get up any sort of enthusiasm when we play the slow sideways backwards football we played on saturday. I almost wish we'd go back to lumping thd ball forward at every oportunity and hope for the best.or maybe even if we'd havd given them a good kicking it woukd have given the crowd something to get excited about. I don't know if it's thd manager telling them to play that way, or the players are too thick to mix it up a bit. Rant over! Some truth in this. I went into Selhurst ready to give everything and for the 1st half I did but frustration set in with our pathetic performance and when they scored the 2nd all my will to be positive had gone. The fans should be loud and whatnot from kick off but if they are watching that crap it can't be a shock that we're not up for it surely?

Lots of negativity here. For those of you there you must remember the wind. It was swirling all round the pitch. Before the game the sprinklers were being blown in all directions. Edited by dreamwaverider (13 Mar 2019 2.59am) Edited by dreamwaverider (13 Mar 2019 3.05am)

atmosphere is bound to fade as expectations are raised, and big crowd noise is a reaction to what's happening on the pitch, the HF keep it going manfully generally, however I do think it is a sign of complacency that the 'we love you' chant only gets going when we score - we needed it after Knockeart's goal, easier said then done though

I don't buy this "Brighton got very lucky" line that a lot of us are pushing; let's be honest in both games this season they wanted it more than us, and they're players seem to understand what the fixture means to the fans. I didn't see any intensity or urgency from our lot in either game... Originally posted by dreamwaverider

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Just pre warning that this is a rant and I’m still very annoyed about Saturday. So first of all gutted with the way we played, Putting up with a load of abuse being called pikeys and songs being sung about cantona, no one battered an eyelid, 4/5 fans were trying to get songs going and giving some banta back for 1 of them to be ejected, absolutely Shambolic treatment by the club, cameras on every one of us no wonder the atmosphere in the Arthur was appalling, and we had verse after verse of where’s your famous atmosphere being sung and before anyone says we were losing this was when it was 1-1. In my opinion need to move the away fans back towards the holmesdale, gives the family end a break aswell, All very well but what was there for us to cheer about? $hite football and a lack of effort does not encourage me to cheer on the team. Not for the first time at home this season either. On the other hand, Brighton fans had something to cheer about. Don't take their silly banter so personally ... we can't impose a vow of silence on all visiting supporters.

I have to agree with Dreamwaverider. I didn’t see a difference in effort. The weed simply lucked out. It’s a game of fine margins at this level. If we had won (which on a different day we could have done) no one would be criticising the players’ commitment; or Roy’s abilities. Next time we win a couple of games with a bit of good fortune of our own they’ll be people on here raving about good old Roy and how we can comfortably finish in the top 10. Let’s have a bit of perspective.

Nearly every home game is like this. Exactly. We play exactly the same wether we are at home of away. We should really attack teams from thd start at home. If only to Get the crowd buzzing.
