Well was it a penalty? After looking at it many times I do see the defenders arm move to wards the ball, even though he is not facing or looking. Before I thought it was ridiculous. So VAR - what will it bring, more controversy than ever but it is on track to get the decision right IMO.

Fergie rang the officials and offered them a bottle of his best Scotch.

It's a penalty, the handball rule is written wrong so makes it hard to understand. He turns his back to the goal and trys to make it look like his arm isn't deliberatly blocking the ball. He knows what he was trying to do, unfortunate to get caught but it's what VAR is for.

I'm always of the belief that in such situations it really must be clear cut and obvious, he knows if he gives it he is literally giving the game to Man Utd, which he did. It's one of those ones you can argue either way but in such crucial circumstances it's got to be stonewall to be given. If it was given in the first half you can have the same debate but at least it didn't decide the match and PSG could have responded to it. I don't like matches decided by contentious decisions and man u have been very fortunate

Can you imagine if that had happened in Turkey or anywhere else where the fans are a bit more fanatical? I don’t think those United fans would’ve got out alive.

I was just upset that manure won. I cannot bring myself to want that team to win under any circumstance.

The fact its still being debated sort of sums the situation up. Not clear cut either way. Mind you the media would have probably have hammered the ref/UEFA etc had that gone against Man U.
