I really wouldn't be surprised if the 'Band of 11' were joined by some more second referendum remainers in the coming days and weeks. Going back a few years the 'Gang of four' caused a split, thus far the defectors have merely caused a splinter. Edited by Willo (21 Feb 2019 10.32am) The 'Gang of Four' faded away, it is essential in a democracy that you are whipped and the withdrawal was too much. It is very difficult to adjust to not being whipped after so many years and counselling should be made available. If Anna Sourbry was made Chief Whip there would be a rush to join (wow)....

Why didn't this bunch just join the lib dems? Indeed. What makes the Lib Dems so toxic that those on the right of the Labour party and the left of the Tories can't join them. The Libs are the only (UK wide) pro remain party, they would seem to be an obvious choice to defect to.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
