i notice Macclesfield have appointed Andy Cole as a striker coach (he lives close by) so surely Palace could do similar - we already have Brighty on the payroll for what appears to be a part time position.

Zaha is not a natural goal scorer - his one on ones record isn't great and his positional play when we attack from the opposite flank is poor (rarely makes a run into box - look how often Man City score with Sterling and Sane getting on the end of crosses). This could be worked on.

Similarly Benteke (and Wickham when he plays) seems to hide when the winger has the ball or stays at the far post which makes it difficult to get the ball across to him - if wide player always knew he would make a near post run, for example, that would surely help. Again decent coaching would make a difference.

Agree with point re set pieces - no real method , just put it in box. Surely a couple of routines can be worked on. Dann always got 3 or 4 goals a season making a similar run each game.

I'm sure they all practice like bloody mad and after every game even more so.

what we need to find is a good goal sniffer like Glen Murray, who was it who got rid of him, that transfer specialist SP!

Because Pardew refused to use him, he just left him sitting on the bench ..you must remember?

I think the idea of having a specific coach to help a top level "striker" how to score goals is a bit desperate. Players get chances in games that they would bury nine times out of ten in training.

I also think that the home crowd has become overly expectant and anxious at times and that a bit of this has passed on to the players.

A lot has been said about this being the best squad etc etc but it's difficult to justify those statements when so few have the quality or ice in the veins to do the most critical part of the game.
