Tony Popovic is doing great things here in Aus. Previously won the Asian Cup with Western Sydney Wanderers and has my local team Perth Glory 7 points clear at the top of the league in his first season, Glory have been a basket case for years. One season mixing it with Roy, Ray and the first team squad with a view to taking over in 20/21 season might be prudent for a smoother transition. Would prefer him over Lampard any day. Yes, it's the viable options bit that stumps me too. If Derby don't go up...

Pullis' short-term record cannot be compared to Hodgson's. What's far more significant is how Pulis got on after he left and how is doing now. Personally I will never forget what he did for Palace when he was here, but I will never forget how he left either...Pulis knows how to build a strong unit, still a c*ck though...

Interesting - he had a spell in Turkey that didn't work out didn't he.

NO, idon't want AWB gone next year, i want him at Palace as long as possible, he is getting better and better, why sell him before he has reached his full potential and market price, i don't want to get rid of Wickam either, and bye the way, your valuations on Palace players was miles out, 30M for Benteke, were you kidding?
Secondly, Wickham hasn't justified his price tag, sure the potential is there, but that's all it seems to be. Sure he has had injuries, but again, where was he saturday? injured again... sometimes it's just not meant to be - insane is doing the same wrong thing over and over again. We can wait another year, but why? Ship him out, get someone else in for the NOW. Lastly, this is what i said regarding AWB: year later, AWB will be gone, good luck to him, thoroughly deserved and that money brings in two new players... You don't think big offers will come in this summer? You don't think a year from now he will be showing complete, professional performances with the big clubs knocking - you don't think his attitude, skill and work rate allows him to move on from palace and allow him a shot at the big time? I wouldn't want to hold him back and neither would any true fan, the bloke is amazing and i want him to go out there and acheive wonders. But not you, you want him at palace right cos, well... it doesn't matter what the player wants or capital to invest.
This was once a quality forum.... |

Popovic was a lamb to the slaughter there. After about a dozen games he was sacked with three wins. The club had no money, no President, all members of the board quit, 12 players from the first team squad threatening to quit due to non payments. I wouldn't judge his time in Turkey too harshly.
