According to FiveThirtyEight - Liverpool have a 61% chance of winning the league, M.City have a 36% and Spuds 3%. At the bottom end Huddersfield are doomed at 99% chance of going down, Fulham 84% and Cardiff 55%. We come out with a 2% chance. they predict we will finish with 47 Pts and be 13th. I'd settle for that. What do you guys think?

How have they arrived at the prediction that we'll get 47 points, another 21 points from 13 games, when we've only got 5 points more from 25? If that were true, the computations of victories to earn the points must be from beatong the other teams around us which would surely put us my than 1 place better off?

At the moment I am predicting 1 point per game for the rest of the season as par. So anything more than that will be a bonus. Of course it would be great if Michy and Christian formed a lethal partnership. Anyway at the moment I believe we will stay up with around 40 points.

Being generous, I have us finishing on 41 points. I didn't look at other results but I would imagine that would be ample to stay up (yes, I do remember Oldham, before anyone asks!) 47 points would need a fantastic run to the end of the season.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |
