This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy, 442 at home please' by bexleydave Would love to see Tekkers and Batman upfront together but being realistic (a bit reluctantly) I agree its probably a chasing the game strategy Max M has struggled to impose himself when we've had 3 in midfield so him plus 1 would be madness. He did play more centrally in the Fa Cup and was disappointing and was subbed - a poor Barry Bannan in my view. Hopefully 2nd season with a decent pre season behind him we will see a better player. But lacks pace and not a strong tackler so I have my doubts. I think we could go to 442 in games for final 20 to 30 minutes if trailing though - Tekkers and Batman upfront would be a handful
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

This post has been merged from a topic called '442 is it the right time ' by bexleydave As we should be safe, does anyone think it’s time for going 442 and try to start a game on the front foot? I know its probably been tried in training, but I don’t remember us starting a competitive game this season 442 got to try it else we won’t know if it works or not. If so who would you want front two to be, Batman Zaha , Benteke Zaha , Benteke Batman.

This post has been merged from a topic called '442 is it the right time ' by bexleydave No - we only have 1 striker who can score, Batshuayi, and now even he is struggling too. I want a more attacking mentality with the 4-3-3. Playing 4-4-2 not only means shoehorning a crap striker like Benteke in, but it shunts Wilf back into a midfield 4 where he has to do more defending than he can do, or than we should want him to do.

Sorry bangell i don’t agree Benteke isn’t crap, granted he has been poor for awhile but it maybe the system he’s being asked to play and you must admit we dont get many crosses into the box, as for moving Zaha back into midfield isn’t that where he made a name for himself playing RM , all it would mean is the right and left back don’t push forward as much.
