I just re-watched Man City v CPFC (shhh! I’m on a day off and Mrs YT thinks I’m ‘decorating’). How the feck we are in the position we are in, losing to the likes of Watford and Brighton, and nervous about games against the likes of Southampton and (in another topic) Fulham, is a feckin’ travesty. COYP!!! PS: Picture the scene when Mrs YT gets home later: “It’s all in the preparation, love!” Edited by YT (30 Jan 2019 12.12pm)

Jimmy Mac is often given the job of tracking the oppositions most dangerous players as i reckon his concentration in defensive is great. Look how effective Hazard has been against us. There are 2 sides to the game - what you do with the ball and what you do when you don't have it. That's why he will start a head of Meyer. i thought Meyer played aswell without the ball on sunday as he did with.

I hope Schlupp isn't playing. Yes, he did work the first goal but gave the ball away more times than a PL player should. I'd like to see Meyer and Wickham start but guess the manager has other ideas. If Wickham fades we bring on Benteke (although without much hope) it is reassuring to know our 'second choice' defence (Kelly, Dann, Ward) seem to be slotting in seamlessly and Speroni is far from past it although having 4 good keepers seems to be an extravagance.

When we play away from home, or even at home against certain teams they play right into our hands. Spurs did it on Sunday. They dominated possession and played on the front foot, this allows us to hit them on the break and move through the transition quickly to get players into some space and cause some issues with their defense not being set. Wolves came at us and did it when we played at their place and beat them 2-0. When Wolves came into Selhurst and turned us over they allowed us 68% of possession and sat back, outfoxing RH. We are simply not good enough to break well drilled defenses down, 2 or 3 times in a game, if at all in some cases. Meaning goals are hard to come by, and then we are on the ones getting hit with quick breaks. This is why Doncaster may not be a cake walk. However since that first Wolves game we are generally playing better, therefore its not all doom and gloom if Southampton sit back at their place tonight. I would expect though that they will not sit back, and will have a go at us, and that should suit us well.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |
