Kid's a Gibraltar international (winger/AM/forward) who broke into the scene this season, scoring in the UEFA Nations League as they won their first ever competitive games. He's currently on trial at Rio Ave (finished 5th in the Portuguese top tier last season) although his club have asked he be returned for their coming top-of-the-table clash on Saturday. Other clubs in the Portuguese top flight and Segunda Division have approached him too so it seems he's hot property right now on the Iberian Peninsula.

As he only plays in the Gibraltar league he'll be a bit of a rough diamond and may be a more long term investment, starting out with the U23 before seeing if he's capable of stepping up, but he's seen as possibly Gibraltar's best product since Tony Macedo. There's also talk that his teammate Louie Annesley is signing for Blackburn so it could be an interesting place to look for young talent on the cheap.

His goal vs Armenia (they spent the rest of the game kicking lumps out of him): [Link]
As a fun little aside, the guy who assisted him is almost exactly twice as old as De Barr, being born in 1981 while Tjay is a 2000 player.

Was also on trial with UD Las Palmas (Segunda Division in Spain, last season was in La Liga) this week. Played in a friendly game before going back to his club and scoring twice in a 9-0 win yesterday. [Link]

Now being reported he's signed a pre-contract deal with promotion chasing Real Oviedo. Shame.

Worth taking a punt on I reckon. Cheap youngster with bags of potential in a position we need. If it's true he's already signed for Oviedo it's a shame but if he hasn't I think we could intercept it if we wanted - surely we're a more attractive prospect?

Would hope so. Might as well keep an eye on him during the Euro qualifiers and see how he develops too, as well as other youngsters (cos although they have still got a couple of players in their late 30s, overall Gibraltar have one of the younger teams in Europe with 3 of the youngest Nations League players coming from there: De Barr, Annesley (now at Blackburn) and Ethan Britto of Mons Calpe). There's also an uncapped kid called Dylan Peacock who's only 17 but has been earning plaudits in the league.
