This window is all about the forthcoming Summer in my opinion.
Deadwood cleared and silly contracts over; Sako can go and cost nothing, Batman the same.
Wilf and Sakho may well go sadly but it leaves us with cash to spend and enough places to fill that the Manager (whoever he will be) can make his own mark on the Team.
Even if we manage to keep Wilf and Sakho there is still opportunity.
If we can stay up then maybe next Season will be batter.

And Perri the keeper isn't there to cover an immediate need but to see if he can be developed for the long term.

Hodgson's remarks about his not needing a keeper make me wonder whether he even knows how a football club works. By the time Perri becomes useful Hodgson will be gone, so obviously his acquisition is nothing to do with Hodgson.

Time will tell with regard of the effectiveness of the window.
We know that Hodgson was on board about Sako because he was clear that this was the case and I think he will use him in matches.
Hopefully this will also be the case with Batshuayi as it will very frustrating if he has Ayew, Benteke and Wickham ahead of him because Hodgson has worked with them for a longer period of time.
I assume that Batshuayi has been given assurances that he will play or I doubt he would have joined.
I don’t think he will play tomorrow as he’s not due to arrive at the club until today, but surely he will be involved against West Ham.

To be fair, I think those comments were because his acquisition had nothing to do with Hodgson i.e. Hodgson wanted signings to help in the immediate future and perhaps frustrating Parish and co. must have somewhat bypassed him in buying a future prospect.

I had almost conceded that we were not going to sign anyone this transfer window for immediate impact. However I was somewhat optimistic that we would be stronger for the return of CFs in Wickham and Benteke. Now, even if he does flop, Batshuayi has strengthened that optimism for me and I am quietly confident we will be alright and may even have a cup run.

Very much agree with the general tone of 'good business, clearing of deadwood, successful window etc.' and if this is indicative of real, forward looking investment in the summer it is both exciting and extremely pleasing to see.

COYP!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I think RH must be wondering what is going to happen next.

At transfer windows he gets a few in who he doesn't want or need, usually shipped out later.

What does he do with 4 goalkeepers ??

At the death, with no prospect of a striker, suddenly Parish delivers.

Must have been close.....

He could play two at the same time? Maybe three if we are defending a narrow lead in the last ten minutes of a game.

A bit unrealated but I see solanke starting for Bournemouth tonight so really we could of waited for his injuries to heel seen as our new striker Batshuayi had his first appearance for us today !

A lucky let off. I know which one I'd rather have until the end of the season.

Too right, Solanke looked way off the pace of the game.
