I can remember being 10 years old and at Maine road when Ian Wright scored in 1990 that turned out to be a great season with the cup final and a golden era for Palace with our highest finish the year after. Wright, Bright, Grey and Coppell used to feel like they had the palace DNA: fighting spirit, pace, power a little rough round the edges but fought for the shirt. Felt like South London people if obviously Coppell and Bright were northerners. Fast forward nearly 30 years and today feels the same with AWB and Zaha fighting, with skill and pace both from the academy and our best players, we have our DNA back. Add to that Roy and Parish at the helm both local lads who understand what we're all about. Now our longest period in the top division, hopefully and finally new academy and stand on the horizon. Plus i personally thinl this singing section will eventuallly be a big positive to younger fans bonding like the terrace days, I feel were a good striker away from another golden era. I know it has been a hard watch at times this year with square pegs in round holes and the squad needs investment but we have a clear playing style, pace and fight throughout and despite paying high wages over 100 million of assets at the club if things did go wonky! I would suggest we enjoy these next few seasons hopefully with Roy, Zaha and AWB as quite possibly they may not be here much longer to enjoy! Eagles...
