Look at the top half of the championship, 3/4s of them are historically bigger clubs than us.
I reckon everyone below Everton will be relegated at least once in the next 15 years.
I understand a lot of the points that are being made and the ‘old boys network is boring ‘ , but no club apart from the big 6 has EVER had continued success. Bournemouth were f*cking great 6 weeks ago, now they are sh*t.
We’d need 60-70 years of continued top flight football to up there with the big clubs.
Like the circle of life , we will be relegated , like charlton, stoke, Bolton. Maybe just enjoy that we can go to Chelsea away once a season at the minute.

Quite, and Well the point a lot of us are making is we should be getting the club in a good operational situation football wise to be competitive in the championship when we are relegated. We aren’t and we aren’t doing that. Parish was great when 2010 bought us and we were lucky that those round pegs were found to fit Freedman’s stubborn system at the time with the best 2 wingers supplying the best striker who Brighton bizarrely couldn’t get him to stay. Otherwise we wouldn’t have been promoted and the likelihood is we won’t again unless we get extremely lucky. The idea should be we don’t rely on 6 factors and a huge slice of luck to be competitive in that division when we return, we should be putting things in motion so that we are. Parish has tried but it looks like he’s hired the wrong people and taken the wrong advice all over again. Who’d have thought he’d make the same mistake again?

Ah, sweet sweet loser talk

I'm no fan of the way Parish has been running the show in the last few years, but thank goodness he shows a bit more ambition than that!

Well it’s to get the club in shape to operate competitively in either division and we shouldn’t count on us not being relegated because, as everyone knows, unless you’re in the top 6 plus maybe 1 and able to spend mega money on 2 quality players per position it can and will happen and you’d be a fool and poor businessman to believe you won’t be relegated.

Besides, I’m talking about the behind the scenes being in good shape, not assembling a championship squad.

I'm not a Parrish knocker but on the playing side there seems to be a lack of clear strategy or vision and the disappearing act of so many managers suggests he's too controlling, I hope Roy goes upstairs in the summer, a wise level headed chap and a local he could put Parrish in his place when Steve casts doubts on his manager's plans, would have a coherent strategy on player recruitment and development and I would trust him to advise when its best to spend a bit and when it's best to budget

It's Not a case of if but when!
If it means getting Loftus, Abrahams and Salanko then yes as we will score some goals and what do goals do? They can win matches and what does winning matches do?
Keeps us in the Premier., no question.
Those 3 would definitely keep us up.
Wilf on his own , NO.
Great player in not such a great team!!!

Salanko, hmm is that the interesting combination of Solanke and Salako. Now there would be a player!

Does he ? He talks a good game, but what clear ambition has he shown ?

We are just above the relegation Zone again. and are making the same mistakes in the transfer window over and over again. People keep banging on about this brilliant squad we have ?? where is it ?? we have a decent first 11, No striker worth his salt, and a Center Back in Sakho that cost a fortune but is prone to at least one howler per game.

10 Million for Sorloth FFS, come on mate even those with the rose tinted glasses on, must see that something is not right at the club.

I'm not being pessimistic I'm just pointing out that the infrastructure at the club, is as shyte as it was 8 years ago, the only common denominator is the board.

Facts are :
No nearer new ground than we were 8 years ago.
Still looking to fight of relegation after 6 seasons in the prem.
Facilities for fans especially in the Arthur wait are a disgrace.
Transfer dealings naive and borderline incompetent, leading to last minute panic buys. (Sakho Benheskey)

It can be done right, just look at Watford and Wolves, even the f***ing weed.

I love my club and my frustration is that we have a golden opportunity to become an established premiership club, but the chance is being wasted by piss poor management.

good points there, Watford, Brighton, Wolves and the weed do seem to have a more coherent strategy re recruitment and development - you can't be too systematic, but Parrish just seems to react to circumstances, and the Arthur is awful if you want to get a snack and relieve yourself without missing 10 minutes of the match, and the new stand has stalled, but the Yanks have splashed some cash on a very high wage bill with already too much overpaid dead wood, and remember just keeping us here is more than the club has ever achieved up till now ... oh and the point about selling Zaha if you get the right replacements in spot on esp if they included Loftus Cheek and the others mentioned, but a sale in the summer with a thought out Plan B would be the way to do it
